Straight Up Stretching :)

Hello, bet you thought "Tina Talks Tuesday" forgot to talk today! Nope, Never, Not Me. ;)

Just a little reminder to not overlook the important task of stretching. Stretching is a vital part to any exercise program, and can at times be the most underrated. But, not here at AMERICAN MUSCLE! We know how important it is to allow the connective tissue surrounding your muscle fibers to lengthen, thereby enabling your body to support more vigorous activity...like that at F.E.C., on Tuesdays at Cobblestone Arts Center, and Sundays at the P.C.C., only! It can also improve your posture, reduce the risk of injury, and increase relaxation.

Try to do some form of stretching every day. Ideally I try to do 10-15 minutes of morning "wake-me-up-stretching" everyday, as well as before any form of exercise during the week. The "Straight Up Stretching" class that is held every Wednesday evening, I've included a link (click on the title of blog that provides details to a local class), taught by our very own wise men, Tanouce & Crofton is a great place to start, or add to your stretching routine~ "This Class is Great for everyone, whether one is a student athlete looking to take your game to the next level, or even if you are 90 years young and just want to feel better."

Bed Time Affirmations <3

Today's blog comes to you late due to having a blessed day vacationing with my lovely family, hence tonight's blog topic.

Affirmation, gratification, and manifestation are powerful tools when practiced daily. Repeat after me:

Fasting Benefits

Good afternoon Lovey Beings <3 Welcome to "Tina Talks Tuesdays" 

Today I wanted to explore with you the many benefits of fasting. As always please consult your PC or our very own "Dr." Crofton when shifting your dietary lifestyle. :) I can say I was a little apprehensive to mention my fasting practice, which I do one day a week, with my health care provider. However, to my pleasant surprise she was elated and all for it! Yayy! She praised my efforts and went over the many health benefits, such as the ones listed below:   

"Fasting is a willing abstinence or reduction from some or all fooddrink, or both, for a period of time."

*Increased Energy

*Increased Immunity

*Enhanced Liver function

*Reduced Allergy Symptoms

*Increased Metabolism

*Improved digestive Function

*Heightened mental clarity, "Laser sharp" focus

*Reduced Joint Aches and Pain

...Just to name a few. :) There are different ways to fast, so I will share what seems to work for me. I have my last meal at 6:00 pm on Sunday, and fast until Monday at 6:00 pm.  During this 24 hour period I consume water, organic green tea, 1 cup of organic black coffee, Braggs ACV ginger organic drink (pictured), Only...and pee a lot! That's All Folks! Happy Fasting! As always comments and questions are encouraged and welcomed.

Easter is right around the corner so I thought this would be the perfect time to remind and/or encourage "healthy" candy options. You may be thinking, "is there such a thing?"...well, yes there is. :)

Down with The Sickness

Good Day to you all & Welcome to "Tina Talks Tuesday" <3

Today's blog is inspired by my oldest daughter, who unfortunately was "down with the sickness" yesterday. Many may see this as a not so positive topic, however lets look at it as a reminder that our health is our wealth, and we should be treating the body like the temple it is,with the most pure plant-based products. ;)  It appears that many of us have been, or know of someone who has been ill with some form of something this season. So lets shed a little healthy light on this sickness, and see if we can boost our bodies for optimal wellness from this day forth. :D  

You are invited and encouraged to leave your recommendations and comments below of some of your tried and true immune system boosters...thanks in advance! 

Here are a just a few of my tried and true wellness boosters:                                                (please post questions/comments below)

Staple 1: When sickness does decide to make a pit-stop at my house, Organic Bone-Broth soup is a must. Bone-Broth has a high concentration of minerals to help strengthen the immune system. You can make your own broth (we'll save that for another blog day), or the store bought organic is great too, and then just add whatever fresh organic ingredients feel right to you. Organic chicken, spices, organic veggies, such as carrots, celery, ginger, garlic, and onions typically fall into my pot, and the whole family gets a hearty dose of this immune boosting meal. Yum-Yum!

Staple 2:  Watercress~ This peppery leafy ancient green is a shopping list must have. It is considered one of many super foods and is packed with vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It is one of many greens that end up in daily salads, smoothies, or anything that calls out to it. ;)   Give it a try and let me know what you think. 

Staple 3: Fermented Foods~ This topic will also likely be a future blog topic, but lets just getting it started now since these foods are incredibly beneficial to our health. These probiotic foods contain microflora that create a protective lining in the intestine and shields it against pathogenic factors, such as salmonella and E. Coli. These foods can lead to an increase of antibodies, and a stronger immune system; plus help regulate the appetite, and reduce sugar/refined carb cravings. Here are some common fermented foods to give a try: Kefir, sauerkraut, Miso, Kombucha, pickles, kimchi, raw cheeses, and probiotic yogurts.   

Staple 4: Hemp Seeds ~ Another Super Food! You are invited and encouraged to look back to a previous blog done by the creator, Crofton Celentano, called Hemp, Hemp, Hemp. There he highlights many of Hemps marvelous health benefits. Enjoy! 

Staple 5: Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar w/ The Mother (ACV) ~ This organic liquid is ultra rich in enzymes, pectin, nutrients, B vitamins, Folic acid, and potassium just to list a few. It promotes digestion, healthy alkaline state, supports toxin removal, heart health, and is rich in malic acid which provides potency against harmful organism.  

Staple 6: Love ~ Rest ~ Positivity ~ & High quality H2o Always & Only.

Incorporating these staples on a regular basis will help sustain overall health, wellness, and increase immunity with hopes of reducing your chances of getting "down with the sickness"! As always, talk to your health care professional for overall wellness concerns or questions. ;)

The "Positive News Channel" is highlighted on the American Muscle YouTube channel, and can be viewed from the comfort of your home, office, or where-ever feels right.

Rhonda is a local gal who is passionate about others and her community, she's upbeat, down to earth, and full of positive love and light. Her passion shows through her work and her recommendations are from the heart.

Lovely Morning Everyone! <3 Welcome back to "Tina Talks Tuesday " 💕

February 14th, what speaks to you when you here this date?!?! A few thoughts may come to mind, however today's blog will be short, sweet, and to the point.

Today, February (such a tricky month to spell, thank you spell check ;) 14th, is yet another day you were blessed with, to wake up, to breathe in fresh air, to get up and be the best version of yourself, to smile more, and to LOVE!!! 

Today and Everyday is another opportunity to compliment more, say hello to a stranger, reach out to someone who has been on your mind, practice random acts of kindness, and to tell the ones that matter most that you LOVE them, and are GRATEFUL everyday, for their presence in your life!

We are all connected, the heart space energy is one of the strongest if you allow it to flow freely...and the Great, Late, Bob Marley says it best...

Where to start when Meditation is on your mind? 

Answer:  Right where you're at! ... -OR- at F.E.C. w/ American Muscle of course! (check them out on FB for days & times) "One Love."

It can feel a bit overwhelming with all of the different types & styles of meditation available, but don't fret, there are tools out there to get you all set. ;) Start by trying a few styles on for size, stay mindful of how it fits your Mind~Body~Soul (M~B~S), and just go with the flow you feel within. 

The time, space, and place to practice is always right in the exact moment that your M~B~S calls for a mindful time-out, or shall we say "time-within", honor your souls calling, breathe deep, and enjoy the reset!  This can happen once a week or every hour of your day, it's up to you only.

The attached link (click "source" under blog title) will take you to an amazing app to give a try, which can be another great tool to add to your tool box. Insight Timer is an Incredible resource for any age or stage that may be interested in practicing/adding meditation to their lifestyle.

 The FREE app is user friendly, and is one of the World's most used Meditation apps. It features beautiful singing bowls and a powerful worldwide meditation community. It is a fun, connected way to support your meditation practice. There really is something for everyone with hundreds of favored teachers, several categories, and an overall online community of positive support & GVO!
