TURNING THE OTHER CHEECK
FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO. RECENTLY I HAVE HAD TWO EXPERIENCES WHERE I HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE COMPASSION. AFTER BOTH I FELT ANGER… AT FIRST. THE FIRST INCIDENT THE ANGER LASTED TWO DAYS… AND THEN I FELL GRACEFULLY INTO COMPASSION PUTTING MYSELF IN THE OTHER'S SHOES.
THE SECOND WAS MINOR… SOMEONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME ( WHICH I HAVE DONE TO OTHERS MYSELF ) HOWEVER INSTEAD OF SPEEDING UP HE CHOSE TO GO EVEN SLOWER AND WAVED ME ON LIKE OH YEAH COME ON. SO I SIMPLY SLOWED DOWN AND AS I PASSED HIM WHEN HE TURNED I LITERALLY TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK… ALTHOUGH I WANTED TO HONK I DID NOT.
LATER THE NEXT DAY I THOUGHT TO MYSELF… NOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN HIS LIFE THAT HE WOULD WANT THAT UNNECESSARY DRAMA… ALSO THANK GOD I DID NOT ENGAGE IN IT!!!!!!!! AFTER THESE THOUGHTS I SETTLED INTO COMPASSION.
SOMETIMES ONE’S GIFT IS ANGER… IF WE DO NOT WANT TO RECEIVE THAT GIFT… WE MUST CHOOSE TO RESPOND DIFFERENT.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME,
ONE LOVE, NAMASTE
